Journal History

RDJ was founded by Brill and DANS in 2016 and from 2021 it was funded and published in collaboration with CESSDA. In 2025 ownership of the journal was transferred to the International Institute of Social History and publishing moved to Openjournals. Donors currently include DANS and Utrecht University’s Open Science Fund.

 

Aims & Scope

This is a peer-reviewed journal, which is designed to comprehensively document and publish deposited datasets and facilitate their online exploration. The journal aims to contribute to the transparency of research, accelerate dissemination and foster the reuse of scholarly data. RDJ is an e-only and Diamond Open Access journal. Articles are published in Open Access at no cost to the author.
