About the Journal

Journal History

RDJ was founded by Brill and DANS in 2016 and from 2021 it was funded and published in collaboration with CESSDA. In 2025 ownership of the journal was transferred to the International Institute of Social History and publishing moved to Openjournals. Donors currently include DANS and Utrecht University’s Open Science Fund.
